Explore our rewilding map.

Rewilding is a vision for our future with nature, but it shouldn’t be abstract. There are people and stories behind every project. This map is a place to celebrate and track the progress of rewilding in the UK.

What is rewilding?

Rewilding can mean many things, but at its heart, it’s about forging a new relationship with nature.

Add a project to the map

We know there are many more projects that aren’t on the map. If you have a rewilding project, send us an email at 4youngwilders@gmail.com! No matter how small or big, we would love to include it. We have a privacy policy in place to ensure landowners and locations can remain anonymous on the map.

The Community of Arran Seabed Trust (COAST)

The waters around Britain house some truly special marine habitats, but few more so than those found around the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. The Community of Arran Seabed Trust (COAST) is a grassroots organisation that has been working tirelessly for over 25 years to ensure the region’s marine environment thrives. Amongst a host of pioneering conservation work, they were responsible for the creation of Scotland’s first, and the UK’s only, community-led No Take Zone (NTZ), which has allowed almost 375 football fields worth of ocean habitat in Lamlash Bay to be entirely protected from all fishing and extraction. The NTZ now sits within the South Arran Marine Protected Area, established in 2016, which excludes scallop dredging and limits prawn trawling activity. These protected areas encourage natural regeneration of habitats and the recovery of wildlife populations. To read more or support COAST, please visit their website! https://www.arrancoast.com/'
